Tender Wax is a record shop, not a data company. This page explains what little information we collect, which services handle it, and how to reach us about it. Effective date: July 13, 2026.
the short version
We collect your email address if you join the newsletter, and your name and email if you book a digging session. That's it. No accounts, no ad tracking, no analytics scripts, and we never sell or rent your information to anyone.
who we are
Tender Wax is a curated dance-music vinyl pop-up based in Austin, Texas, operating at tender-wax.com. For anything in this policy, contact info@tender-wax.com.
what we collect, and why
- Newsletter. If you join, we collect your email address so we can send you pop-up dates and fresh-crate news. Signups are processed by Kit (formerly ConvertKit), our email provider. Every email we send includes an unsubscribe link that works instantly.
- Bookings. If you book a private digging session, Cal.com collects your name, email and the time you pick, and shares them with us so we can show up with the crates.
- Email you send us. If you write to us, we keep the correspondence so we can reply and remember what we talked about.
We use this information only to run Tender Wax: sending the newsletter you asked for, honoring bookings, and answering messages. We don't sell it, rent it, trade it, or use it for advertising.
services we rely on
Like most small sites, we run on a few third-party services. Each one may process limited technical data (like your IP address) when your browser talks to it, under its own privacy policy:
- Cloudflare hosts the site and may log requests (including IP addresses) for security and performance. Cloudflare privacy policy.
- Kit stores and processes newsletter signups. Kit privacy policy.
- Cal.com handles session bookings. Cal.com privacy policy.
- Google Fonts serves the site's typefaces, which means your browser requests font files from Google. Google privacy policy.
- Discogs serves some of the record cover images in the catalog, so your browser requests those images from Discogs' servers.
cookies and local storage
We don't set tracking cookies and we don't run analytics. The site uses your browser's local storage for one thing: caching record cover art so the crates load faster on your next visit. That cache lives on your device, contains no personal information, and you can clear it any time through your browser settings. Third-party services listed above may set their own cookies when your browser connects to them.
how long we keep things
Newsletter emails stay on the list until you unsubscribe. Booking details and correspondence are kept as long as we need them to run the shop, then deleted. If you ask us to delete your information, we will, unless a law requires us to keep it.
your choices and rights
You can unsubscribe from the newsletter at any time via the link in any email. Depending on where you live, you may also have legal rights to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of your personal information, or to object to how it's used. To exercise any of these, email info@tender-wax.com and we'll take care of it. We'll never treat you differently for exercising a privacy right.
kids
The site isn't directed at children under 13 and we don't knowingly collect their information. If you believe a child gave us personal information, email us and we'll delete it.
changes to this policy
If we change how we handle your information, we'll update this page and the effective date at the top. Significant changes get a mention in the newsletter.
